IIM Bangalore is inviting application for a key role in managing the healthcare and medical needs of the Institute campus - Resident Medical Officer
Role responsibility - Candidates have ability to handle all first-level medical cares, both routine as well as emergencies, be able to attend to OPD cases and provide first aid services, prescribe tests, Do diagnosis, medicines for relief and ensure proper care of all residents on campus (faculty, students, visitors, staff and residents).
He/She should be able to conduct medical audits of the campus comprising the Teaching Blocks, Administrative Areas, Faculty Housing and Student Hostels and to ensure that hygienic and nutritious food is served by all the cafeterias on campus.
Apart from being a Doctor, he or she should be able to create an awareness of general medical well being and welfare on the Campus.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining stocks of emergency medicines
- Preparation and dissemination of draft medical policies, advisories, and health bulletins
- Attending to domiciliary calls when necessary
- Liaising with hospitals
- Organising periodical medical check-ups
- Recommending medical leave to staff/students when necessary
- Imparting preventive and health education
- Overall management of the IIMB Health Centre
- Student counseling
Eligibility criteria - Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience post their medical qualification (MBBS or higher medical qualification). A specialization, additional qualification or experience in community medicine will be preferred.
The selected candidate will be offered a 5-year contract. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
