Grant for Medical college researchers/NGO researcher by ICMR

There has not been sufficient progress made by the country to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDG) 4. The Council accords high priority in supporting and promoting research aimed at improving child survival to achieve MDG 4. Multicenter / single center large scale projects, clinical trials / operation research / implementation research are invited from eligible scientists/ researchers on the following priority areas of national relevance are invited



This call is to invite proposals addressing research questions on any one or several of the following areas:

* Improving delivery of evidence based interventions for maternal, newborn and child health through continuum of care approach
* Developing linkages for referral care for newborns and under five children within existing health care system
* Strategy to improve coverage of evidence based child survival interventions within the existing health care system
* Introducing perinatal death audit system for improving quality of care
* Situation analysis of health work force in primary and referral health care setting, creating enabling environment for health care providers (pre service training, skill building and sustaining skills, supportive supervision etc)
* Developing tools / inbuilt system for monitoring and evaluation of various health care programmes
* Use of modem technology for improving vital registration, communication among health care service providers

The research proposal should be prepared using the Ad-hoc research form template available at the ICMR web site. Fifteen copies of application should be submitted.

Eligibility

Scientists in regular employment in the medical colleges, postgraduate institutions, universities, recognized research institute and development laboratories and NGOs. (Applications from non-governmental agencies should provide documentary evidence of registration(Registered with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India), track record etc )

Deadline for submission of proposal is May 15th 2011.

15 hard copies of the proposal complete in all respect in the prescribed format along with a soft copy (either through email (PDF file or CD) must be submitted on or before deadline to:
