Fund for innovative projects click



The Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development (APFED) has launched the 2009 Showcase Programme. The Showcase Programme seeks to support projects that "promote innovative policies, measures, and actions for sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region." Under this programme, projects that are innovative such as piloting innovating policies, organizing innovating technologies or building the social capacity of NGOs and other organizations for sustainable development can receive grant support. The grant support has a limit of US $30,000 and it can be used for implementing the project. NGOs proposing the project or at least the projects being proposed should be implemented in the Asia-Pacific region. The project duration can be from six months to 24 months. The areas covered in the programme are (1)climate change; (2)marine and coastal resources; (3)wastes and chemicals; (4)energy and air, (5) biodiversity; (6)freshwater;; and (7)land management (including urbanisation, rural development and forest).
