Grant support for Indian NGO working for vulnerable group
The European Commission (EC) has announced a Call for Proposals to Indian NGOs under its "Civil Society Organizations in Development Support to In-country Interventions" for the "Vocational Education and Training for Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups in India." This is a golden opportunity for NGOs working on livelihood development with remote and marginalized communities across the country to apply for grant from the European Commission. The funding would be provided for providing vocational education, training and skill development. building innovative linkages, adequate use of local resoruces and capacity-building of relevant institutions. The projects proposed under this "Call for Proposals" can cover healthcare, travel and tourism, renewable energy/sustainable environmental management, trading, retail and fast growing service sectors, agro-processing and value-adding sectors in agriculture and manufacturing. The grant allocated to each successful proposal is substantial, falling within the range of €500,000 to €1,000,000.
The sanction of the funds to NGOs would be made according the priorities based upon the geographical focus. This is based upon the allocation of the certain areas as poor and backward by the Government of Indai under the Backward Regions Grant Fund, in which nearly 250 districts have been mapped in such a manner. For a list of these districts, visit this link.
