India Innovation Initiative – 3i


A nation wide Innovation Competition is announced for the innovators. It is for all innovators in India in the age group of 18+ years. The competition is challenge based. The innovative projects will have two levels of screening. The first level of screening will be through Novelty Search in idea and instrument. The selected innovations after the search will be exhibited at the regional fairs where a panel of expert jury will select the innovations which will compete at the National Fair to be held in Delhi for Top Honors. A panel of judges comprising of eminent scientists, industrialists and experts will do the first screening. There will be a second screening process at the National Fair for selecting the top 5 innovations. These selected innovations /innovators will be awarded cash prizes and offered IP protection and licensing/ commercialization support.

Who can participate?
Participation is for all innovators in the age group of 18 years and above.
This includes:
• All colleges, universities and Institutes.
• Innovators from R&D Institutions and Labs.
• Entrepreneurs, Industry professionals and Freelance Innovators.
• Grassroot Innovators through NGOs and Rural development organizations.

How to enter the contest?

Innovators may enter the contest through the online registration process or the offline registration process.

o Download the registration form by http://www.innovationgrid.org/i3/pdf/i3_2011_form.pdf and printed it.
o Fill in the form by hand and mail it to CII along with a copy of your project report and demonstration of results. This should reach CII before 25th September 2011.

3. Download the form here, save it on to your desktop, key in the details and email to i3@cii.in.

Important Information
Your project report should be well documented, brief and precise and not more than 5 pages. A link to the full project report can be provided in the proposal.

Final selection will be made by a jury comprising of leading industry experts, academia, and government representatives.
